When I lived in Central Phoenix, I "adopted" 6 chickens and a rooster to roam around my front yard (they get territorial and know their boundaries). My apartment was virtuall bug free and I had I never needed an alarm clock, thanks to the Rooster. Good for you guys! we're coming over for breakfast!

I can't brag enough about how impressed I am with your design for the chicken coop! It's perfect and I can't wait to paint it and make my "rockin roost" :)

It was so much fun getting chickens and building with you this weekend. five star family weekend I'd say :)

Lol. The upside is that you've probably already recovered your costs. Our hens will have to produce 38 dozen eggs before we break even ;)

Good post. I think I've naturally been starting to think about those issues, but it's a good point to think of it in light of my faith. Thanks for providing scripture references, I'll look at 'em.

Thank you for not blaming me. I feel so awful. Kayla's paw seems to be doing better and she's her same old self today. When the kids get up from their nap I"m going to Petco to get her a spiffy updated address and phone number tag.

Another thing you can add to your list: If you are driving around in an upper class neighborhood, looking for your dog and see a hello kitty table with chairs, a toddler pool float and a little boys ride on John Deere tractor all in mint condition on the curb in front of someone's house, don't second guess yourself. Snatch it up. Take it home with you. Give your children rich peoples trash because when you go the next morning it will be gone and you'll realize that they had set out perfectly perfect toys out front for bulk trash.
