Global Political Landscape

September 20, 2006 – 8:38 am Wow, take a look at the global political landscape right now:
  • Thai army leads a coup against Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra
  • Benedict XVI quotes poem criticizing the use of violence to spread the Muslim faith, Muslims outraged
  • Prime Minister of Hungary admits to lying to Hungarians about the state of their country’s economy to win reelections
  • Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad pushes Iranian nuclear program
  • Iraqi government ousts Hussein Trial Judge
And there’s even more than that going on. I’ve noticed stuff like this seems to come in cycles. Things will calm down but then after a while it will pick up again and there will be crises everywhere. Is it just the media or is our world really getting crazy?

  2. I think that the world will keep on getting more and more nutso. From my worldview (and I don’t apologize for it), there is an event that all history points to…and we are all part of this event.
The media reports what it wants to report I think. For example, you never hear about the people in Iraq who are very happy we came in. I have two friends who served there, one in the Army and the other in the Marines…they tell the unbiased truth. Another thing…the Clinton people were in a tizzy over the 9-11 “docudrama” on ABC. The media played it up. If the media is fair and balanced, where was they play-up when Michael Moore presented his ficticious story called Farenheight 9-11? Also, Muslims are protesting about what Pope Benedict quoted. Well boo-hoo. He quoted what he quoted…why does that give them reason to burn down a church building? Where is the media hoopla when Muslim people refer to non Muslims as “infidels?” Should that give me reason to go torch a mosque? Nah.

  3. I think that it’s amazing that God uses pagan kings to turn people’s hearts to Him. There’s tons of Christians in Iran as of late due to the oppressive leadership which has made the people say enough is enough and turn to Christ. Crazy times are instruments for God.
